Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Doubles Activity Payouts Ahead of X01 Map Launch
Dynamic Ops now pay up to $20,000, while Side Ops and mission steps offer more cash ahead of DMZ’s November 6 map launch.

Modern Warfare 4 DMZ’s latest payout changes give players more ways to rebuild their cash between deployments. Dynamic Ops now award up to $20,000, and the higher rewards for Side Ops and mission steps make smaller objectives more useful when an operator needs to replace lost gear or refill a stash.

The update arrives just days before the mode’s next map, X01, launches with Modern Warfare 4 Season One on Friday, November 6, 2026. That timing gives players a chance to make more of each deployment as they prepare for a new location. The patch notes, published by Infinity Ward, raise payouts across three kinds of activity.
More cash for every kind of objective
Dynamic Ops have the largest individual rewards. They now pay between $10,000 and $20,000, double the previous range of $5,000 to $10,000. A successful run can bring in a substantial amount at once, giving teams a clearer reason to take on these larger objectives even when a deployment carries the risk of losing equipment.
Side Ops have also become a more practical source of cash. Each one now pays $2,000, up from $500. That’s a fourfold increase, and it changes how smaller activities fit into a run: they can offer a meaningful top-up without asking players to commit to a Dynamic Op. Five Side Ops add up to $10,000, matching the new minimum payout for one Dynamic Op.
Mission steps now pay $500 apiece instead of $300. The difference per step is smaller than the bump to either type of operation, but it adds up as players make progress. It also means that routine advancement contributes more to a player’s balance, rather than leaving cash recovery mostly to the largest objectives.
Together, the new rates create a wider set of routes back to a healthy stash. Players who can finish a Dynamic Op have the best single payout, while those looking for shorter tasks can build their earnings through Side Ops. Mission steps provide another stream of cash along the way. The best choice will depend on the team’s gear, how much time it has, and what it can safely complete during a deployment.
A softer landing after a lost deployment
DMZ runs can leave players short on equipment and money after a rough outing. Under the previous rewards, a $500 Side Op payout offered limited help with recovery. At $2,000, the same activity has more weight: several completed Side Ops can restore a balance without requiring players to chase a single high-value target.
That matters because a strong payout has to be weighed against the chance of losing what a team brings into a run. Raising rewards doesn’t remove that tension, but it gives players more options for managing it. A team rebuilding its stash can take on several smaller objectives, while a well-equipped group may decide that the larger potential return from a Dynamic Op is worth the effort.
The change may also make the mode’s activity mix feel more flexible. When smaller objectives offer a better return, players have more reason to adapt their plans as a run develops. A team that doesn’t want to pursue a major objective can still make progress toward its next deployment; one that finds an opening can aim for the higher Dynamic Op reward. The value of that choice will depend on how consistently players can complete each activity and leave with the cash.
X01 is next
The payout boost sets up a useful transition into X01, the next DMZ map, which arrives Friday, November 6, alongside Season One. The new locale is described as drawing inspiration from Building 21, the limited-time map from 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. That comparison points toward a more contained setting where player encounters could be a major part of the experience, though the available details don’t establish how X01 will play in practice.
For players heading into the new map, the immediate takeaway is concrete: activity rewards are higher, and there’s more than one way to build a cash reserve. Dynamic Ops remain the biggest single opportunity, but Side Ops and mission progress now contribute more substantially. How those payouts shape X01 runs will become clearer once players can explore the map for themselves.
