Oliver & the Odd Bots Chapter 4 Walkthrough: Solve Every Glass Factory Puzzle

Chapter 4 of Adventure Escape Mysteries: Oliver & the Odd Bots sends Oliver into a glass factory to find Coal. The puzzles bring together item crafting, light and symbol clues, a moving flame, and a workshop production line. This walkthrough follows the route through the factory and gives the key combinations for the trickier steps.

The story follows Oliver the cat as he tries to repair malfunctioning Odd Bots in a magical, kid-friendly world. Haiku Games’ point-and-click adventure is available on iPhone and iPad through the App Store. For the earlier chapters, see the guides for Chapter 1, Chapter 2, and Chapter 3.

Get through the factory entrance

Start by collecting the crate and board. Tip over the barrel and pick up the spatula. Lay the board across the barrel, then set the crate on top to make a seesaw. Winnie jumps onto the other end, breaking the crate open; take the gloves from inside.

Use the gloves on the valve to stop the steam. The door still won’t open, so take the spring sticking out of it. Use the gloves to retrieve the second spring, then attach both springs to the boots. Give the resulting spring-o-matic shoes to Winnie. Once he reaches the window, toss him the spatula so he can break the glass and let the group in.

Find Coal and trap the wisp

Inside, Coal’s light is out. The PomPom reveals footprints leading to a locked door, so pick up the switch handle and weight. Put the handle on the glass oven and open it: Blink, Coal’s buddy bot, is inside. Take the lenses. Blink’s light reveals symbols on the two vases; tap Blink to shine the light from the other side and uncover the remaining symbols.

At the locked door, place the lenses on the tiles that reproduce the symbols you saw on the vases. When the pattern is right, a will-o’-the-wisp appears. Pick up the fire poker and use it to open the furnace.

Guide the flame to the orange space by swiping it. It continues moving until it reaches a blue space, and ghost trees can make it bounce in a different direction. Toggle the PomPom to hide or reveal those trees as you plan its route. Once the wisp reaches the furnace, it turns out to be Coal’s soul. It returns to Coal and wakes him.

Forge the weatherglobe

Coal agrees to answer questions if you help light the furnace. Put the scale on the hook and add the weight; the smoke clears. Turn off the PomPom to remove the ghost plants. Coal then asks you to forge a weatherglobe base, so enter the workshop and collect the mold and hand tool.

Return to the previous room and use the hand tool to open the stuck panel. Press the red button to lower the gear, then take it. Put the gear with the others and pull the lever to send the metal chunk along the belt. Collect the oil that appears. In the next room, use the oil on the red and yellow lever to loosen it. Press the red button to lift the metal, pull the lever to move it to the furnace, then press the button again to drop it in. Set the mold in front of the furnace to catch the poured metal.

Coal sends platters down the belt for filling with colored glass chips. Pull the lever; it breaks off, so take it with you and fit it into the missing spot in the other room. The stained glass shows the three sprites that indicate blue. Make the colors by pairing levers as follows: red uses levers 2 and 3, blue uses 2 and 4, and purple uses 1 and 3. The platters move back automatically, and Coal eats them.

Complete Coal’s puzzle

Follow Coal to receive the hand crank. Use it to open the shelf and collect the four tools. Coal takes the first, then asks for the blocking buff: give him the thing-a-majig. For the super jack, hand over the ginormous tweezers. When he asks you to fetch the mold from the furnace, use the grabby gizmo to retrieve the molten mold. Put it in the glass oven to make the weatherglobe, then place that globe with the others.

Read the clipboard’s pickup schedule: Tuesday at 6 p.m., Tuesday at 10 p.m., Wednesday at 8 a.m. twice, and Wednesday at noon. Adjust the globe’s dial to change the weather, tapping it to check the time of day. This sequence supplies the weather clues for Coal’s chest puzzle: Tuesday at 6 p.m. is windy, Tuesday at 10 p.m. brings a thunderstorm, Wednesday at 8 a.m. is rainy, and Wednesday at noon is sunny. Match the instruments to those conditions in schedule order, using the Wednesday morning condition twice, then take Coal’s heart.

Add Coal’s heart to the PomPom and solve the maze inside it. Watch the closing scene to finish Chapter 4. Continue with the Chapter 5 walkthrough when you’re ready for the next part of Oliver’s search.
